How do I use The Salt Parlour scrubs?
To become a salty scrubber you can use our Salt & Sulphur Scrubs in the bath, shower, or as a face mask and they can be used on wet or dry skin. Gently shake the tin to loosen the scrub and using the spoon, scoop out your desired amount (try not to put a wet hand inside the tin). Scrub in circular motions concentrating on any problem areas you may have and leave on for 5 minutes letting the oils, vitamins and minerals soak in. Once finished rinse off with just water and pat dry so the oils can continue to do their magic. Do not use the scrub on freshly shaved legs - we recommend exfoliating 24 hours prior to shaving as your freshly shaved skin can be a little more sensitive. Do not use the scrub on broken or irritated skin. If you get the scrub in your eyes, rinse well with warm water.
What will The Salt Parlour scrubs do for my skin?
The combination of Dead Sea Salts, Organic Sulphur, sugar, essential oils, vitamins, minerals and botanicals guarantee silky smooth skin even after just one use. It helps to remove any dry, dead and flakey skin cells which build up over time and moisturises, tones, cleanses, smooths, polishes and perfects your skin. Our scrubs may also help to target common skin problems such as acne, cellulite, eczema and scarring (and those pesky upper arm bumps).
Why do you use Dead Sea Salts and Organic Sulphur in your scrubs?
The waters of the Dead Sea have been renowned for their therapeutic effects since ancient times – filled with magnesium, potassium, calcium chloride, and bromides.
Magnesium is important for combating both stress and fluid retention, slowing skin aging, and calming the nervous system. Calcium is effective at preventing water retention, increasing circulation, and strengthening bones and nails. Potassium energizes the body, helps to balance skin moisture, and is a crucial mineral to replenish following intense exercise. Bromides act to ease muscle stiffness and relax muscles. Sodium is important for the lymphatic fluid balance. So we can see that scrubbing with in high-quality sea salt could replenish the minerals that are critical to our skin metabolism.
Organic Sulphur softens the skin and makes it smoother, more hydrated and flexible – perfect for skin that has lost its elasticity. The sulphur compound also has an anti-inflammatory and skin-repairing effect, which may be useful for inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema, acne and psoriasis. It also may help smooth and soften acne scars and may even skin tone, diminish hyperpigmentation and age spots.
Are The Salt Parlour scubs ok for my sensitive skin?
Our scrubs are suitable for people with sensitive skin although we do recommend doing a patch test at least 24 hours before using our scrubs to make sure you have no adverse reactions to our products. Please do not use if you are allergic to any of our ingredients – if you do have an adverse or allergic reaction we advise you to contact a medical professional immediately.
How often should I scrub?
Our scrubs can be gritty so we recommend using it no more than 4 times per week on your body and twice a week on your face - remember to scrub very gently on your face.
Do I have to moisturise afterwards?
Because all of our body scrubs are packed with natural goodness you can be rest assured that your skin will be super hydrated after use, so there will be no need to moisturise afterwards (unless you really want to)!
Can using The Salt Parlour Scrubs help with shaving and fake tanning?
Our scrubs are perfect to use before shaving as they remove the top layer of dead skin cells and additional toxins, giving you the cleanest slate possible to remove hair. We recommend exfoliating 24 hours prior to shaving as your freshly shaved skin can be a little more sensitive.
Exfoliating before using fake tan creates a smooth base for a flawless finish and can also help it stay on for longer too!
I am pregnant, can I still use your scrubs?
We recommend not using our scrubs during pregnancy. This is due to the essential oils in our products. Please consult your doctor before purchasing If you decide to go ahead and order.
How long will my scrub last for?
Our scrubs can last for up to 6 months unopened (remember there's no nasties in our products hence the shorter shelf life) and once you've opened up the tin we'd recommend using the product within 6 weeks - all that scrubbing will give you amazing summer smooth, glowing skin.
How do I store my scrub?
Just make sure the scrub is kept upright, with the tin's lid screwed on and stored in a cool dry location so no water can get into the product. If the product is exposed to extreme heat the consistency of the scrub may change but it will still be fine to use.
